Privacy Policy

We built ScoutsCapital so players, scouts, and clubs can move with confidence. That starts with how we handle your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and the controls you have over it.

Overview

ScoutsCapital is a platform for grassroots and professional football participants, players, scouts, coaches, referees, clubs, leagues, and federations. To deliver our services we collect personal data, including profile information, performance data, and usage signals. We never sell your data.

This policy applies to every product surface, marketing site, web app, mobile apps, and APIs.

Information we collect

Account information: name, email, role, date of birth, region, club affiliations, profile photos.

Performance and scouting data: match events, ratings, lineups, attendance, scout reports, video links you upload.

Usage data: pages visited, features used, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP.

Communications: messages you send to support, feedback you submit in-product, transcripts of any sales or onboarding calls.

How we use your data

Deliver and operate the platform, render your dashboard, surface relevant scouts, generate analytics.

Improve the product, measure feature adoption, prioritise the roadmap, debug issues.

Keep accounts safe, detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations.

Communicate, send transactional emails, account notifications, and (only with consent) product updates.

Sharing and disclosure

We share data with infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, email, analytics) under strict data-processing agreements.

We share data with verified scouts, clubs, and federations only when you explicitly opt in or when sharing is core to a feature you have enabled (e.g. publishing your scout profile).

We disclose data when legally required, valid court orders, regulatory requests, or to protect against imminent harm.

We do not sell or rent personal data to advertisers. Ever.

Your rights

Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction. Fix anything that is wrong or out of date directly in your profile, or by contacting us.

Deletion. Request that we erase your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.

Portability. Receive a machine-readable export of your data.

Objection and restriction. Limit how we process specific categories of data.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Inactive accounts are flagged for review after 24 months and may be deleted unless retention is required.

Aggregated, de-identified analytics may be retained indefinitely.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access is gated by role-based controls, MFA, and audit logging.

No system is impenetrable. If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in line with applicable law.

International transfers

Our infrastructure spans multiple regions. When personal data is transferred outside your jurisdiction, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect it.

Minors and youth players

Football is a young sport. Players under 16 require verifiable parental or guardian consent to create an account. Youth accounts have additional privacy defaults. Public discoverability is off by default and cannot be enabled without consent.

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes we update the effective date and notify affected users by email or in-product banner at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
